Above all things, truth. Not belief, not faith, not religion, not god nor gods, not patriotism, not ideology, not hopes, not dreams, not reward, not comfort, but truth….for better or for worse, truth. That's what I blog about.

Only an Idiot Like Trump
Only an idiot would…
…believe windmill noises
cause cancer.
…think raking a forest floor
will prevent forest fires.
…want to use nuclear bombs
to stop hurricanes.
…think you need a photo ID to
buy cereal.
…claim Continental Army
soldiers captured the airfields around Washington DC in 1776.
…think he can buy Greenland.
(This idiot can’t even take care of Puerto Rico, a much smaller island)
…retweet and endorse a post
that referred to him as the King of Israel and like the second coming of God. (Since
the Jews aren’t waiting for God again, he probably meant Jesus.)
…admit on camera he is
willing to break the law to stay in office, by accepting foreign assistance and by telling government employees to violate the law and he’ll pardon them after they seize private property illegally using Eminent Domain, ignore impact reviews, destroy local infrastructure, defile
a historic cemetery…etc, in order to build a wall that simply panders to his base.
This idiot tweeted a highly classified
photo of a failed Iranian rocket launch that had not been cleared for
publication by the Dept. of National Intelligence. To avoid charges of illegally exposing highly sensitive material to our adversaries, ex post facto he asserted an
“absolute right” to release it as president as if there was nothing wrong with doing so. It's the same as in 2017 when from the Oval Office he confidentially bragged to the Russians about highly classified
information from a spy inside ISIS. We found out about this from the TASS photographer in the room and then from the Israeli government. Trump brushed it off by asserting he never mentioned Israel by name, while in Israel. H R McMaster was forced to go out before the public and further muddy the waters to cover up Trump's massive security blunder. Two weeks earlier it was revealed that in a phone conversation with Rodrigo Duterte, he nonchalantly mentioned that two US nuclear
subs had been positioned just off the coast of North Korea, a serious violation of military procedure. Again the White House scrambled to issue an after-the-fact justification that explained 'of course Trump had the right to do so as president.' How is any of this serving, protecting, and defending our country? And this idiot has our nuclear codes.
Only this idiot would pose with a thumbs up next
to Melania holding a child survivor of the Aug. 3rd El Paso mass murder whose
shooter had cited Trump’s word ‘invaders’ to murder that child’s Hispanic
parents.
Only this idiot would rail against socialism then turn around and dole out $28 billion taxpayer dollars to farmers who have
been financially ruined by his trade war with China.
Without any evidence this
idiot accused the Clintons of being complicit in the death of Jeffrey Epstein.
Without any evidence this
idiot accused Ted Cruz’s father of being involved in the assassination of JFK.
Without any evidence this
idiot claimed Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was murdered.
Without any evidence this
idiot said Hillary Clinton got almost 3 million more votes than he did only because
3 to 5 million illegals voted in 2016.
Without any evidence this
idiot claimed a judge who was born in Indiana of Mexican parents could not do
his job because Trump was building a wall on the Mexican border.
Without any evidence this
idiot claimed Barak Obama created ISIS.
Without any evidence this
idiot accused Barak Obama of wiretapping his phone in Trump Tower.
Without any evidence, this idiot accused Barak Obama of being foreign-born for five years. Then, when the proof was demanded, he simply said he didn’t find anything. So to
Trump, no evidence = fact.
Like a five-year-old, this
idiot insults the physical appearance of rival candidates and their spouses or makes up a childish playground bully type of name to call them. He even fat-shames his own
supporters.
Only this idiot would think that since we have
nuclear weapons in our arsenal we should use them…and not just on hurricanes.
This idiot doesn’t even know
what 5G means yet brags incessantly that no one knows more about technology
than he does.
This idiot still claims Alabama was threatened
by Hurricane Dorian and defaced an official weather map to maintain his fiction
that it was in danger even though the National Weather Service showed the storm
would stay well off the eastern seaboard two days before he made the claim.
This
idiot makes up phone calls with world leaders, brags about letters he’s
received but can’t prove he actually has, and can’t even operate an umbrella.
He lives in a make-believe world where facts don’t matter, where truth doesn’t
matter, where integrity doesn’t matter, nor does character matter. Only he
matters. This man does
idiotic things that wouldn't amount to a hill of beans if he weren't president. But he is and those actions endanger us and the world.
Cabinet members, you took an oath of office to defend the Constitution and the nation, not Donald Trump. It’s time to take your oath seriously and save our republic from what this idiot is doing. History expects nothing less from you.

Angela Merkel's Reaction to Trump's Latest Rant
Just imagine if this happened as the world responds
to America’s Buffoon-in-Chief.
Former British Prime Minister Theresa May called
Donald Trump’s tweets against U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar “completely unacceptable.” Incoming Prime Minister Boris Johnson echoed May’s sentiment that this is not how
world leaders act with his own observation that “If you are the leader of a
great multiracial, multicultural society, you simply cannot use that kind of
language.” UK Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn brooked no semantic games and straight-up called Trump a racist.
Canada’s Justin Trudeau told reporters “That’s not how we do things in Canada.”
Many more voices were raised against Trump’s screed, from New Zealand Prime
Minister Jacinda Ardern, Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, and the
European Council. Every day more world leaders express their revulsion over Trump's remarks.
Now German Chancellor Angela Merkel has become
the latest to condemn Donald Trump for tweeting and then telling four
young Democratic Congresswomen to “go back to your country” while tacitly
approving of his sycophants at a Greenville, NC rally to chant “send her back”
for a full 15 seconds. Merkel revealed she opposed the sentiments…but for an entirely
different reason.
“No, this needs to stop,” Merkel said outside
the German Chancellory, “there should be no more of this sending them
back talk. Do you realize that if this spreads, those opposed to Trump will
demand he go back to where his family is from? I know he told reporters that
his father was from Germany, but this is Donald Trump. He lies. His father was
born in New York so that is where he should go back to. His grandfather
Friedrich Drumpf, however, was born in Kallstadt, Bavaria in 1869. That means people might start demanding that Trump be sent back here.”
At this point, a look of disgust swept
over Ms. Merkel’s face. She then shook violently, took a deep breath, and
almost hissed “We don’t want him here. The German people do not want to have any
association with Donald Trump. That would be an additional disaster for us to
have to contend with. Our past is tainted by tyrants. We have been bled to death by the decisions of those men. But now we are a peaceful country. We have
learned to live with others on this planet. We don’t need Trump’s divisiveness,
empty promises, and self-centeredness. Donald Trump is America’s problem.”
Just imagine if it was possible to
send Trump back to Germany like he thinks those four Congresswomen should go
back to the country their ancestors left. What kind of chaos would ensue? While I don’t know about conditions
in the various countries where the four women’s ancestors lived I would bet
that any of them would be welcomed by the people of that country as well as
they are welcomed by the constituents they represent in their home states. But the
Germans clearly no more want Trump in their country than a majority of Americans want him here. We have to get
him out of office, arrest him, try him for the crimes he has already admitted to, and see to it he spends the rest of his life in an orange jumpsuit behind bars. His wealth and power do not put him above the law and they are not "get out of jail free" cards.
Angela Merkel would be right. Only Americans
can do anything about a president who defies our courts, who replaces people
around him with only “yes-men” and “yes-women” to provide cover for him while
he enriches himself at our expense, who lies
about anything as he goes along, who approves of foreign leaders killing
Americans or legal residents of the U.S., who was having sex with an adult film
star and a Playboy model a year after marrying his third wife and just after
the birth of his fifth child then covered it up with Michael Cohen’s help in
order to get elected, and a man who is laughed at and denigrated by the rest of
the world as confirmed by the former UK ambassador’s private email exchanges,
and at the UN last September. That is why we have the 25th amendment, to remove a person who has proven to be morally and mentally unfit to hold the office of President of the United States.

Trump Embarrasses the United States on the World Stage...Again
While in Hanoi with the world’s press gathered after the US-North Korea talks abruptly ended, Trump was asked about whether he spoke with Kim Jong Un about American Otto Warmbier who had been held for months by North Korea and was brutally tortured until he was comatose, then hurriedly released to the U.S. so he could die hours later at home.
Trump answered the reporter’s question by saying Kim “tells me he didn’t know about it and I will take him at his word.”
Trump could have made a statesman-like appeal to Kim and ask him to launch an investigation to find out who ordered and carried out Warmbier's torture - because who would have the nerve to do something that besmirched and sullied Kim's reputation and make him look like a blood-thirsty monster to the world rather than a great leader? Trump would have finally looked presidential with that one request. But Trump just doesn't have it in him.
Once he was safely back home where he thinks he can massage whatever message comes out and do his own damage control he reinvents the moment and claims it was a misunderstanding, tweeting “I never like being misinterpreted, but especially when it comes to Otto Warmbier and his great family. Remember, I got Otto out along with three others. The previous Administration did nothing, and he was taken on their watch. Of course I hold North Korea responsible…”
Trump didn't “get Otto out.” That's just Trump hyperbole. Only days before Warmbier died, panicky North Koreans contacted the U.S. and demanded they take the dying man off their hands. Trump didn't lift a finger. Trump also played the “blame Obama” card in his tweet - as though passing the buck to cover his own shortcomings in defending Kim's implication in murder is a rational and adult way to explain why Trump is not to blame, for anything. Trump ends the tweet almost in a whisper “Of course I hold North Korea responsible…”
Of course you do.
Yet when Trump had the opportunity to say that on the world stage he crumbled. He showed everyone his true colors; he defended the regime that killed Warmbier, and he actually used the world stage to praise that regime. What does that say about the United States with Donald Trump as our president?
Worldwide approval of U.S. leadership has already floundered and remains low after a dramatic drop during Trump's first year in office, while China's rating ticked up to its highest in almost a decade. That’s according to a new Gallup poll released Thursday, February 28th that measures how adults in 133 countries feel about the global leadership of countries like the U.S., China, Germany, and Russia. The low approval rating for the U.S. "suggests that the doubts sowed in Trump's first year about U.S. commitments abroad have taken root," it reads. "Russia is now on a more even level with the U.S." Trump is the reason we are at this new low point.
Trump has repeatedly embarrassed the U.S. on the world stage.
He shut down the U.S. government over Mexico not paying for his border wall. When that didn't work, he declared a National Emergency when there was no emergency at all, even according to his own military commanders. It was such a serious situation that, after declaring it, Trump spent the next three days playing golf at Mar-a-Lago.
In Helsinki he validated Vladimir Putin’s interference in the 2016 election…interference that got Trump into office. Trump used the same opportunity to defend Putin, taking his word over the entire U.S. intelligence apparatus. All the while Putin stood next to him and proudly boasted "Yes I did, yes I did" want Trump to win.

Trump used the same opportunity to defend Putin, taking his word over the entire U.S. intelligence apparatus. All the while Putin stood next to him and proudly boasted "Yes I did, yes I did" want Trump to win.
Trump validated Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s ordering the execution of U.S. legal resident Jamal Khashoggi. What is one death when measured against the billions U.S. defense contractors, and real estate moguls like Trump, make off the Saudi government?
He defended as "fine people" racists, White Supremacists, and the KKK at the Charlottesville Virginia march even after a White Nationalist had killed a protester and injured 19 others.
He referred to African nations as “shithole” countries, just as he did with Haiti and El Salvador. Even after being told the correct pronunciation, he still repeatedly mispronounces Namibia as ‘Nambia’, Tanzania as 'Tan-Zay-nee-uh, Bhutan as “Button,” and Nepal as “Nipple.” He doesn’t understand that Colombia and Columbia are not the same things.
Trump was actually laughed at by the entire world…literally, on September 25, 2018, when he bragged about phony accomplishments before the U.N. General Assembly.
His administration still uses the terrorist tactic of ripping children away from parents who’ve crossed the border into the U.S. attempting to flee terror in their own country. Several of those kids have now died as a result of maltreatment while being held in U.S. government facilities. The Trump administration doesn’t care.
That is because Trump doesn’t care...about America or anything else. Trump only cares about Trump. The entire Trump presidency is one long get-rich-quick scheme.
We will pay for Trump’s enriching himself at our expense far into the future unless we use our Constitutional right to demand enactment of the 25th Amendment to remove him from office and indict him as soon as he steps outside the White House. He should face the consequences for his lifetime of unethical behavior, criminal activities, and treasonous actions taken as president.
For his massive corruption, dishonesty, deceit, fraud, sexual assaults, money laundering, numerous Emoluments violations just to name a few, Trump should become the first U.S. president to die in prison.
It will be cheaper for us.

A Quiet Coup d'etat Has Taken Place in the U.S. Government
We have had a bloodless coup d’Ă©tat in Washington DC if the anonymous New York Times op-ed author is to be believed. Men and women we didn’t elect are running things any way they want, and they corral Trump like he’s a five-year-old claiming they are protecting us by doing so. They are talking about Trump’s behavior and character as being childish and they must keep him 'cribbed' to prevent him from acting on his impulses.
PEOPLE WE DIDN’T ELECT ARE RUNNIG THE GOVERNMENT TO PROTECT US FROM TRUMP.
One of Trump’s earliest cheerleaders in the Senate, Bob Corker, less than a year ago described the White House as an Adult Day Care Center where they swipe things off Trump’s desk so he can’t sign them and he forgets they were even there, just like what happens with an easily-distractible five-year-old. Corker has not changed his view on that. This past July, Lindsey Graham had to scold Trump on TV that “Putin is not your friend” like he was talking to a kindergartner. Graham has not walked that back. Is anyone in the GOP concerned about the optics of this? The man elected as the head of that party is being handled like a little child, and the GOP basically is saying “Yeah, we know. It’s been that way since day one. But we work around it and we get as much of our agenda crammed through under his name until someone comes along and figures out what’s really going on.”
SO PEOPLE WE DIDN’T ELECT ARE RUNNING OUR GOVERNMENT AND USING TRUMP AS A SHIELD.
Trump, who is being described as an amoral dimwit, is being used by the Republicans so they can do what they want almost unchecked. Keep in mind, the op-ed letter writer is proud of what they’ve accomplished so far, which, all things considered, isn't much. But of course it includes the program to terrorize kids by separating them from their parents at the border, the tax cuts rammed through last December of which 83% of it will benefit the wealthiest 2% of the population - like Trump – and add almost $2 trillion (with a “T”) to the deficit, and are now attempting to rush through a Supreme Court pick who is on record as saying that a president should not be subpoenaed or even investigated. The GOP is going along with forcing through and putting a man on the Supreme Court who will most likely get to decide cases regarding Trump’s criminal liabilities, obstruction of justice, and possible violations of ethics, security, and political power. Because if Kavanaugh says Trump is above the law, then the GOP gets the Putin-installed childish puppet to continue to cover for them for the next 2 to 6 years. Thanks for putting party before country, GOP.
PEOPLE WE DIDN’T ELECT ARE RUNNING OUR GOVERNMENT SO PUTIN CAN’T RUN IT.
Every U.S. intelligence agency (along with warnings from our foreign intelligence friends) clearly identified Russia as having infiltrated and influenced the 2016 election. Who did Putin’s meddling get elected? Trump is indebted to Putin one way or another.
And from people inside this administration, there have been repeated whisperings to reporters, analyses of his speeches, and detailed information given to reputable authors about Trump’s unfitness for office. So the adults in the room - these are supposedly Trump’s “best people” - have gently pried the government away from Trump like you take a toy away from a five-year-old. And through this op-ed letter, they have assured us they are doing it to protect us from Trump’s worst inclinations, like, say, aiding and abetting a hostile foreign power or violating his oath of office to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, the nation, and the people who serve it by saying he believed Putin over his own intelligence people. The GOP wants to protect this charade so they can continue to govern in Trump’s place because Trump doesn’t appear to know what he’s doing. The letter implies they did this for altruistic reasons because they can’t trust Trump’s decision-making. Like we're in a plane with a disabled pilot spiralling toward the ground and the anonymous resistance member is able to reach up and tap the rudder pedals or nudge the throttle every so often to delay the impending crash.
And from people inside this administration, there have been repeated whisperings to reporters, analyses of his speeches, and detailed information given to reputable authors about Trump’s unfitness for office. We did not elect these people. Aren’t Trump supporters upset that there is a quiet resistance to Trump’s inclinations? Doesn’t it bother them that the president is described as, and treated like, an unruly five-year-old? Do they support a coup d’Ă©tat carried out quietly by unelected people who are now making governing decisions for them? They’re not doing what Trump wants; they are doing what they want. Trump is not in control. He’s being treated like a child because he appears to be acting like a child. They say they are doing it to defend the republic, and make it seem noble that they get to make all the decisions instead of the five-year-old. If you’re a Trump supporter, is that what you want the government to do? Keep him contained in such a way as to minimize whatever damage he can do? If you’re a Trump supporter why would you tolerate that? Either one…that he is being kept from governing or that someone is having to corral him and govern in his place?
WE HAVE HAD A VERY QUIET AND HIDDEN COUP D’ÉTAT CARRIED OUT IN OUR GOVERNMENT.
If Trump is not capable of conducting the affairs and duties of the office of the presidency, then get him out of office legally. That's what you can do. That is what you must do. Don’t take over and then tell us you’re doing it for our own good to save us from what Trump is trying to do. Present your case to the American people. We decide. You don’t.

Do Not Be Silent - Do Not be Fooled - Resist traitorous Donald Trump
Our Constitutional Republic is in danger due to this man. Trump is drawing closer and closer to invalidating our Founding Father’s experiment in self-government. He violated his oath of office and no one who can do anything about it in Congress or on his Cabinet is holding him accountable.
Trump sided with Vladimir Putin against all of our intelligence gathering agencies filled with men and women who quietly defend this nation against foreign intrusion. Men and women who just want a president that has their back...not stabs them in it.
Trump does nothing to preserve, protect and defend the United States or the people who serve it.
That is not incompetence.
That is not ignorance.
THAT IS TREASON.
DON'T SUPPORT TRAITORS - BECAUSE THOSE WHO SUPPORT TRAITORS ARE THEMSELVES TRAITORS.

Something Caught in your Throat? Trump's Recent Weird Speech
On December 6th 2017, Trump gave a speech about moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in Israel. If you were watching you most likely heard something odd in the last minute where he slurred through much of the remainder of that speech. It sounded as if, if he had dentures, they had come loose and were bumping around in his mouth, or that his tongue wouldn’t cooperate. The next day, in response, the White House announced that Trump would have a physical “early next year.”
Spoiler Alert: That physical exam will be a smoke screen. It will be to cover up what has happened. The people protecting Trump are not going to allow anyone to know what he really suffered or what is actually going on. Any results that are eventually made public will be false.
It could simply be that Trump is finally choking on his own bullshit.
He has been unfit for office since before the election that was flipped to him by the Russians, but this escalates the danger to our nation by having a man mentally unfit for office compounded by being physically unfit for office.
Trump’s physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, or as he is referred to by late-night comedians “Dr. Feelgood”, may have contrived with Trump to cover up serious health concerns when he admitted last year that he wrote the letter declaring Trump would be the “healthiest president in history” in just five minutes while a limo sent by the candidate waited outside his Manhattan office. That four paragraph letter is the only medical information that’s been released about and by Trump and it really says nothing at all. It is composed of assertions and grandiose expressions about how astonishingly healthy Trump is but it is nothing close to a medical record. Intriguingly, Bornstein may have been giving us an oblique warning when he later said “the Oval Office has been occupied by presidents with dementia or tumors or even men who were "paranoid" or "psychotic." Was he acknowledging something that implicated Trump’s deteriorating health?
Bornstein’s letter was a bungled attempt to make Trump appear to be Superman but Trump’s diet alone speaks volumes about how he takes care of himself. He frequently eats sodium-heavy, high-fat-content, high-cholesterol-laden, low nutrition fast food like McDonald’s hamburgers, fries, and filet-o-fish sandwiches, KFC’s heavily-breaded chicken pieces, cheese and pepperoni pizzas and large chocolate milkshakes for lunch and sometimes even dinner. When he eats steaks they are so well-done they are almost charred – hidden under a thick layer of ketchup, occasionally accompanied by mashed potatoes smothered in gravy or a salad swimming in Roquefort dressing. When everyone else is served one scoop of ice cream at the White House, Trump has demanded and gets two scoops, plus large pieces of chocolate cake whenever he wants. He rarely eats vegetables and throughout the day he snacks on Vienna Fingers, potato chips, Oreos, and slurps down numerous cans of Diet Coke. He doesn’t exercise, and, as anyone who follows his Twitter account can verify, he gets very little sleep.
He maintains that his golf game is his exercise, and he does play A LOT of golf…more than PGA pros play. But he rides in a golf cart everywhere on the course, even right across the greens. He walks only from the cart to the ball and back. Picture after candid picture of him golfing shows a large belly and an expansive waistline. (Only William Howard Taft was a more...rotund...president.) No one knows for certain how overweight he is because he won’t release his medical records. Nutritionists, dieticians, and doctors who have studied the pictures say he is at least 50 lbs overweight. They have no ax to grind. They are simply making an observation about that person’s body mass in the photographs. Trump does not take his health seriously. So something like a stroke is almost expected given Trump’s callous regard for nutrition and an aversion to physical activity.
Notice that it takes two hands to get the small bottle up to his mouth
The White House issued an explanation for Trump’s slurred speech - and the made-up story was further advanced by their consummate liar, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders - that Trump was just having a problem with a dry throat. So why would Trump need a medical exam? My grandfather suffered a stroke when he was in his 70s and Trump’s speech pattern is exactly what my grandfather’s speech sounded like after his stroke. Grandfather also had dentures but he never sounded like that from loose dentures. From the beginning, Grandfather’s stroke noticeably affected his speech and it only got worse until he died. If Trump actually had a dry throat, why didn’t he just take a swig of water as he has done previously (even though he made fun of Marco Rubio for doing the exact same thing on camera?)
Suffering a stroke is nothing to be ashamed of, but since Trump has been lying to us about showing us his tax returns before election day, about how he now doubts that it’s his voice on the Access Hollywood tape (even though there were nine people on the bus with him at the time who all attest that yes that is Trump), and because he has lied over and over about how he has had nothing to do with Russia, even though he signed a letter of intent in October 2015 to build a Trump Tower in Moscow WHILE HE WAS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT, there is no reason to believe the White House’s excuse (probably dictated by Trump) that he just had a dry throat.
Trump is either finally starting to choke on his own lies or most likely suffered a mild stroke and has demanded everyone around him lie or keep quiet about it.
I hope his cabinet is brushing up on the 25th Amendment.
"If we use big words like 'responding to Presidential disabilities' he won't know what we're talking about."

Election 2017 - The End of the Trump Presidency
We shouldn’t have to wait until 2020, or even 2018, we need to have a new vote for the presidency of the United States this summer.
The Trump administration is not going to last. It’s been nothing but a series of lies, stonewalling, bullying, unethical behavior, dishonorable actions, subterfuge, and mismanagement, not just by Trump, but almost the entire administration, and it has been going on since the moment Trump took office. Not even the three most corrupt administrations in the nation’s history; Warren G. Harding, Ulysses S. Grant and Richard Nixon’s combined, had this many scandals in just the first two months in office.
The investigation into Russian influence in the election is already drawing a noose around Trump’s neck. The latest shell game is the nonsense Devin Nunes has foisted on the American people by accepting supposed incidental intelligence gathered by the White House, not sharing any of it with his investigative committee, refusing to identify what information he had or how he obtained it, then had to go back to the White House to tell Trump what it was (even though Trump should have had it before Nunes did)…but it had NOTHING to do with his own committee’s investigation into the Russian impact on Trump’s campaign. Trump will not survive. And don’t look to his administration to pick up the reins of power and move on after Trump is gone. They are all just as complicit.
Trump and Pence cower before the truth - Pence rages about Planned Parenthood
A Mike Pence presidency won’t work. Vice President Pence has been part of the problem all along too. He was the head of Trump’s transition team. He was informed in writing and personally by Mike Flynn’s lawyers TWICE in November that Flynn was a foreign agent for the nation of Turkey. What kind of vetting was Flynn subjected to that THAT slipped by? Mike Pence was in charge of the vetting process. Also, Trump KNEW on January 26, 2017, when he was informed personally by acting Attorney General Sally Yates, that Mike Flynn had discussed US sanctions with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on Dec. 29, 2016. Trump knew Flynn had lied about talking with the Russians. Does anyone believe he DIDN’T tell Mike Pence about it? Why would he keep that a secret from the Vice President? The retired lieutenant general was forced to resign as National Security Adviser in February after supposedly misleading Pence about the nature of his conversations with Kislyak during the transition. Initial reports about his departure said that Flynn decided to step down voluntarily. The next day, the story changed: Trump had ‘lost confidence’ in Flynn and asked for his resignation. Yet Trump to this day maintains Flynn didn’t do anything bad or wrong. It was all the dishonest media’s fault that Flynn was let go. Pence claimed he found out from a news report about Flynn’s lying on February 9th. Trump knew on January 26th but just forgot to mention it to Pence? Horse flop! Trump can’t let go of his lies even when they make his Vice President look like a burbling dimwit.
Speaker Paul Ryan cannot be considered viable either. He is a Trump toady and essentially a one-issue politician…and that issue is getting rid of Obamacare. What he would replace it with, even HE doesn’t know. We need a president who has a broader more mass appeal idea for the country.
Almost none of Trump’s cabinet picks can be honestly considered capable of doing even a slightly more credible job. Jeff Sessions? Mired in so much self-inflicted scandal he can’t even see to the end of his nose. Steve Mnuchin or Wilbur Ross Jr.? Pirates in business suits. Tom Price or Scott Pruitt? Up to their earlobes in proven-beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt illegalities and unethical behavior. Betsy DeVos? Probably the most ignorant person (and that’s saying something) on the cabinet. At that, she barely beat out Rick Perry who didn’t even know what his Department of Energy actually did…yet Trump STILL appointed him! Rex Tillerson? He doesn’t want the State Department job he has and he's doing a lousy job with that one. Frankly, I've seen smarter cabinets at IKEA.
The one exception I would consider would be National Security Adviser General H. R. McMaster. He is the lone stand-out on Trump’s otherwise abhorrent cabinet. But I doubt he wants to clean up the mess the Trump administration has made.
They will most likely have to resort to the 25th Amendment. Trump will need to be forcibly removed from office when it is proven he acted as an agent for Russia. He will not go willingly. I can’t imagine Melania, Ivanka, Jared or Steve Bannon convincing him to resign. He never admits he’s wrong so he will insist that everyone else is wrong, that the situation doesn’t apply to him, and will probably call for an insurrection. Don’t be surprised if people get harmed or killed when Trump is forced out of office.
If we are to get back the kind of nation as we ideally see it, there will need to be a two-month presidential campaign throughout the months of May and June, and then everyone votes on July 4th. Absentee ballots should be sent out the first week of June and received back for counting no later than June 30th. Each state should appoint trustworthy people to watch the polling places. There is to be no voter suppression. If that person has a valid US I.D. and/or is on the voting roll, they should be allowed to vote. If any are proven to have voted more than once, or that voter suppression actually took place, the full weight of the law should be used to correct that situation.
Democrats, Republicans, Independents, put forth your best candidates. Let them hold rallies wherever they’d like but no PAC or Super PAC money can be used in the process, Citizen’s United be damned. Have the candidates debate three or four times between the start of May and the end of June, let American’s hear their viewpoint, and then we vote.
This year’s Independence Day celebrations should truly reflect that America is not an authoritarian kleptocracy, oligarchy, ineptocracy, plutocracy, nepotocracy or a stooge for a foreign power. We can once again be the Constitutional Republic that answers to the people and is not beholden to Russia, Big Business or a lying sycophant who couldn’t tell truth from a hole in the ground.
