I Saw a Rainbow

Wednesday, Pastor Fred Phelps, the founder and leader of Westboro Baptist Church died. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Part of me thinks good riddance to all his hatred, vitriol and self-righteousness, while another part of me, the part that loves writing blogs about something idiotic Fred or the members of the Westboro Baptist Church had done, is sad. We’re better off with him gone, but it leaves a gaping hole where there was so much to laugh at and make fun of before.

Bible-believing Christians may not like it but Fred was correct in his interpretation of what the bible says about homosexuals. It states very clearly that homosexuality is an abomination and that gays should be put to death. Fred and his church members were just a little more up front and in your face about it, but they are right on the money. Of course, the bible also says shellfish are an abomination so I wonder how soon we’ll see Westboro picketing Red Lobster?

About an hour after I heard of Fred’s passing, I was going out to my car. In the sky to the east was a beautiful rainbow, and it struck me what that multicolored arc represented. God was having gay sex with Fred Phelps! Pastor Fred went from people seeing him and saying ‘what an asshole’ to God leering at his naked buttocks and saying WHAT…AN…ASSHOLE! So the next time you see a rainbow, remember that God is busy at the moment. Fred's 'gaping hole' has his full attention
